If I had a chance to
change one thing in all
the years since my birth
it would be; removing all
the mental pain I've put
my family and friends
through after my
accidents. Sometimes
words and actions don't
come close enough to
showing them that I'm
alright, that life happens
and I'm fine with it. But
the mental pain that they
all went through, it's hard
to forgive yourself for
hurting someone and
this manner.
What Keeps Me Ticking Like A Quality Watch:
What has helped me out more than anything
both before and after my accident has been
having the awesome family that I've been
blessed enough to have. Throughout my life,
being raised by loving parents who unlike
now days, believed in using a paddle if I
had it coming, not taking any sort of talking
back or anything else, when they'd say
jump, I was already in the air... No, It was all
because they loved us unconditionally.
Thank God for wonderful parents who loved
me dearly. What happened or changed in
this world to where the kids run the house,
the schools and so on and so forth?
They've been by my side through thick and
thin, when the future looked grim but with a
lot of belief in God above; I've pulled
through more rough times than maybe I was
supposed to but it gives you a new
appreciation for each and everything you're
capable of doing. Whether it's the blood that
flows through your body, each site you're
able to see or a number of other countless
body functions that you normally don't take
for granted…when you bend the places that
I've traveled, you learn to enjoy life for all
it's worth and on a daily basis. When you
been blessed enough to bounce back
countless times, it gives you a new
appreciation for EVERYTHING imaginable
that you have and I don't mean monetary
value but each and every thing that could be
snapped away in a heartbeat. Life itself has
more values than you can ever imagine
once you're up against the block wall and
nowhere to run and nowhere to hide when
you're in ICU with tubes down your throat,
up your nose and most everywhere else…
Where do I start; with a firecracker that went
off in my back pocket, getting my head run
over by an elementary school friend named
Richard Nixon while sledding down a snowy
hill, my face nearly ripped off a St. Bernard
at the age of 14 or my spinal cord injury in
1985? Yes, you could say I've been a little
accident prone but nonetheless, I've been
able to laugh and smile about each and
every incident though I only wish it were that
easy on my family. Like I said earlier, I
would give anything to remove the harsh
reality and harm to my family and friends
which is the hard pill to swallow. If I were
only "normal" because my life has been
nothing in a nutshell, hazardous?
If you have any suggestions or ideas on how
I might be a will to repay my family for the
pain I've put them through, please feel free
to drop me a line as I'm open to anything
and everything you might have to say.
No matter what life throw's at you, if
constantly look into the rearview mirror and
wish things were different or think if you
hadn't done something that might've
changed your life... There's no way to turn
back time and change things but instead,
look forward to the future and do the most
with what you have because life's way too
short to dwell on the past. I feel life
happens for a reason and whether it's good,
bad or indifferent -- make the best of
whatever your future might bring, be the
best person you can and last but not least;
treat others the way you want to be treated
and make the best out of life because you
never know when this long your last day
might be...
Granted, not everyone out there shares my
views but sometimes it takes sending a
larger speed bump such as the case with
me. I would never wish "any of my speed
bumps" on a single person out there
regardless of their conviction when there's
only one person who can judge any of us
and it's not up to me to judge anybody! For
me, it's easy for me to say that life goes on
but I can totally and completely understand
that's not the case for every person that
goes through a spinal cord injury. It's not an
easy road to travel but I'm very thankful for
having that family idea for helping me over
a few speed bumps per se because there's
no way I would've made it over a few of
them without their help.

A spinal cord injury can either make you or break you (no pun intended) from the start, I decided to
not allow my SCI to change me in any negative aspects as you could slip into a crack rather easily. In
many ways, my spinal cord injury may have turned me into a stronger person than I ever could've
been though it's hard to imagine what your future held when a life-changing accident happens when
you're 25 years of age. When you start your "new life" sitting down rather than standing, walking and
running you take a totally different perspective on life and it opened my eyes to appreciate everything
and everyone so much more. I enjoy making others smile and laugh because as always, a smile
goes much further than frown! Think about life and enjoy each day as it can be taken away all too
quickly, something I've nearly lost more times than anyone would like. But when you face death eye to
eye, it gives you a much larger appreciation and respect for each and every thing you can do in life. I
never want to lose mine anytime soon! If you like roller coaster rides, that's what much of my life has
been with more ups and downs than you can ever imagine... If you have any questions, comments or
if there is anything I can do for you, feel free to drop me a line!
Being that in my "prior life" I was always about my vehicles and my vehicles were all about me; some
thing's never change whether I have an "inability" to do the work myself or not. You can't alway's let
what happens to you change the person you are because change can only occur if you want it to and
those type's of change shouldn't be dictated by others. I'm sure a few people might take me for nuts
BUT this is something that's always been in my DNA, ever since I can remember from my older
brothers first car to when I first got my license a number of years ago. The type of adrenaline that
comes with anything with anything from quick acceleration to the look of having a clean vehicle that
might open a few eyes.. Reasons like this give me greater reason to NEVER GIVE UP, to live life
like "Wile E. Coyote" chasing the ever elusive damn roadrunner because I know eventually --
perseverance will pay off and I'll have that "Roadrunner" by the neck saying "Beep-Beep" myself!
Having the proper tools at your disposal: Whether you're able bodied or have a few inabilities in
life, Dragon NaturallySpeaking is one of the most awesome programs you can have to use! In
twenty-six years of using computers, Dragon will make your life so much easier in all aspects of life
because you can't work without a computer nowadays? My first computer, I Kaypro PC was
equipped with a voice dictation program but it was nowhere near as advanced as Dragon
NaturallySpeaking and would pick up every noise, sound and conversation in or around my room.
When equipped with the Bluetooth headset, your world will be changed for the better like never
before because no matter how strong or weak your voice might be; DNS will recognize what you're
saying and put your thoughts into text like it's reading your mind but not quite.. With a 99.9%
accuracy rate and then putting your thoughts into text correctly, Dragon NaturallySpeaking is just
amazing and life changing to put it lightly. If you use it once, you'll never stop entering data or
working with any Microsoft program, it's easier than ABC…
A program that just takes minutes to install, you will be up and running in no time without needing to
type or ever touched the keyboard again; it's that easy and I'm not getting paid to put this logo and
information on my website; I'm do it so that I can hopefully change another person's life for the
better for a minimum investment… For more information, click the image to the left to be directed
to the Nuance website for more information. It'll change your life in more ways than what I can put in
the words and that's saying a lot!!
After growing up and attending college in the midwest, in 1981 I
decided to make the move "home" in Arizona not knowing what
the future held... Four years later I was in a motorcycle accident
leaving me paralyzed from the mid-chest area down. My life reads
much like a soap opera with everything from triumph to tribute
and everything in-between. After 26 years without going too
crazy, feel freeto read on! Life boils down to having terrific friends,
a wonderful family and so much more... You can make whatever
you want with your life and I like getting the most out of mine by
just waking up each morning or...
Since early 2010 I've been working out to lose weight while
putting on more muscle mass, something I thought was
impossible is becoming a reality and waking up muscles that
have been all but dormant for the past quarter century feel great!
All I can say is " Try it, I think you'll like it! Taking supplements
that were always a myth in the past or something I'm a big
believer in them now days but granted, I may never fly with a
cape but I won't let it hold me back from going forward either... It's
easier to breathe, talk and have more strength than before!
